What do I need to rent a boat or pontoon?
There are just a few basics. You must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Provide a valid driver license or similar valid ID at time of rental (in person).
- Provide a major credit card in your name.
- Provide a $500 damage deposit by credit card or cash.
What information do you provide that I might need while boating?
We will go over everything you need to know about the vessel you are renting…a full orientation on boating, safety, safety equipment location and use…all the “rules of the road (lake)”.
We are very knowledgable of the lake but also provide you with a detailed lake map with all the “HOT SPOTS” on the water. From Copper Canyon, Steamboat Cove, Sand Bar, Pirate Cove, private beaches, Indian Petroglyphs, Topock Gorge.
You can also download a full set of USCG safety documents and a Lake Map from our site. See Downloads.
What if the boat sustains damage during my rental?
It is hard to damage a boat or pontoon as long as you are doing everything properly. You are responsible for damages to the boat caused by you, someone with you, or another watercraft. The boat will be examined upon return and you will be presented with a cost for repairs within 48 hours. Your $500 damage deposit can be used to pay for all or part or of the repairs. Remember, we are in the business to rent watercraft and not to make money off damaged equipment. We will treat you fairly and honestly should an unfortunate accident occur.
Do I get my damage deposit back?
Yes, provided there is no damage to the boat. If there is damage you may choose to have the cost of repairs taken from the deposit, by another credit card, or with cash.
Do I get my initial deposit back?
Your initial deposit to hold the reservation will be applied to your rental charges. (This is separate from the damage deposit)
What should I bring for the day?
We have ice chests and ice for you so you can pack drinks, lunch, snacks…whatever you want. It is a good idea to bring lots of water as you will be out in the sun all day. Bring towels, sunscreen, camera, chairs, floats to relax in the water!
Do I have to launch the boat?
Absolutely not! We’ll launch it for you and will pick you up at an agreed upon time at the same ramp.
How long can I rent a boat?
Our typical rental times are 4 hours (1/2 day) and 8 hours (full day). We also offer overnight rentals but you must provide valid proof of a marina or hotel slip (dock space) rental. If your needs are different from our typical times, we are very flexible and can almost always accommodate your schedule.
What is your cancellation policy?
During non-holiday periods, as long as you cancel at least 72 hours before the rental you will receive your reservation fee back. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the rental your card will be charged a $50 per day per vessel fee. If you are a “No Show” on the day of the rental you will be charged the full rental fee.
For holiday days, the cancellation fee shall be half of the total rental fee.
Is there a cleaning fee?
Normal cleaning is expected such as vacuuming light sand, taking out a few cans and a basic wipe down. If the boat requires more than normal cleaning, there will be an additional cleaning fee starting at $50.
What if the weather is bad?
If it is raining or there is a lake wind advisory in effect or predicted you will not be charged. We would never make you go out in dangerous conditions.
